Little Fala (Roosevelt Room)
Former President Franklin D. Roosevelt once occupied this
historically rich uniquely decorated room. Although FDR had
many dogs during his lifetime, Fala was the most famous. He
was a Scottish terrier born on April 7, 1940, and given to
FDR by Mrs. Augustus Kellogg of Westport, Connecticut. Fala's full name was
"Murray the Outlaw of Fala Hill," and after going to live at
the White House on November 10, 1940, he became the
President's constant companion.
